Not sure if this course is right for you?
We’re happy to answer questions before you register.

This course may be especially meaningful if you…

  • Spend much of your time caring for others and find it harder to offer that same care to yourself.

  • Notice a strong inner critic or hold yourself to demanding standards.

  • Want practical ways to meet stress and difficult emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.

  • Are curious about mindfulness but don’t have an established meditation practice.

  • Want to cultivate greater steadiness and resilience without simply asking yourself to push through.

  • Are a healthcare or mental-health professional looking for meaningful continuing education that also supports your own well-being.

“This course was a wonderful tool for myself in further honing my mindfulness skills, and the tools and mindset learned and cultivated have undoubtedly helped me to be kinder towards myself. This workshop has also been wonderfully helpful and useful in my own clinical work with clients.”

— LR, Psychologist

What is Mindful Self-Compassion?

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), developed by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, brings together the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion.

Mindfulness helps us recognize what is happening in the present moment. Self-compassion helps us respond to ourselves with the same kindness, care, and support we might naturally offer someone we care about.

Over eight weeks, you’ll explore practices that can help you:

  • Meet difficult moments with greater steadiness and care.

  • Soften self-criticism without losing motivation.

  • Build mindfulness skills for emotional balance.

  • Strengthen kindness toward yourself and others.

  • Respond more skillfully to stress, difficult emotions, and challenging relationships.

  • Bring mindfulness and self-compassion into daily life, caregiving, and work.

This is the full 8-week Mindful Self-Compassion program developed by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer.

Why live practice matters

Mindful Self-Compassion is not simply information to understand. It is a set of practices to experience, repeat, and integrate over time.

In this live course, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and practice in community—with guidance, reflection, conversation, and support along the way.

The course includes meditation, brief practices that can be used in everyday life, group discussion, reflection, and opportunities to explore how self-compassion can support you in the places where you may need it most.

You do not need to consider yourself a meditator to participate.

“I wasn’t sure about MSC but a friend convinced me to try it. I came away a true believer… Lauren makes you feel so comfortable and at ease with where you are with the practice of meditation.”

— TH, Pharmacist
